Getting started with Adsense
A very important part of the rapid adoption of AdSense is that it has made it very easy for publishers to get ads to their sites as quickly as possible.
Integrating AdSense into your website only takes a few minutes and you can be well on your way with one or more well-integrated AdSense ads.

You are presented with a report page, which you can use to get a detailed status of your AdSense ad performance. This allows you to optimize the content and layout of your site to increase your AdSense earnings.

You can choose between ad blocks and topic blocks. The former contain text and/or images relating to a specific site for each unit, most have a detailed description, while the latter contain links to certain types only.
Of course, it's a bit tricky to know which type to use, so you should probably try both for a while before deciding.
You can also see an example of how the module looks on the right of your page. However, you can only use three ad units and one topic block on a given page. This is believed to be a measure taken by Google to control quality.
The next step is to choose the format and colors of your extension. You can basically select any color palette you choose, Google offering if you don't have the time or skills to create one. However, your ad formats are limited to a choice of eleven. There's an "Ad Formats" link that takes you to a page that lets you see it all in action so you can decide what works best for your site. Sometimes the more intrusive the better doesn't work, but again this can vary from site to site.
Once the customization is complete, you can click Continue at the bottom of the page.
A section titled "AdSense for content" will now appear. You can click anywhere in the text and it displays the javascript required to run AdSense. This will automatically select the text in the box.
You can then copy and paste it directly into your pages. If you use dynamic pages, you must paste this code into your form to ensure that it displays on all pages of your website. Some advertisers choose not to display Adsense on every page, which is understandable. An example of this is a company that has adsense, and they may also have terms and conditions that would inevitably provide legal resources that could be deemed inappropriate.
Now all you have to do is get some content on your page (provided you don't already have any). Google AdSense crawlers will visit your site shortly to ensure that the ads served are relevant to your site content.
